New Designer: Mount Vic and Me
We’ve added another exciting new designer to the Qurious Collection! This time it’s the uber fun and tongue-in-cheek chic Mount Vic and Me, led by designer Kara Cooper who has set up homebase in (you guessed it) Mount Vic, up in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
From her lofty perch Kara designs and makes a range of quirky and colourful products from coffee mugs featuring Australian politicians (guess which one’s in a pair of budgie smugglers?) to tea towels overflowing with Australian botanicals, in addition to cushions, chairs, facemasks, snow domes, stubby holders, and more.
We fell hook, line and sinker for the Freddie Mercury tea-towels and still can’t stop ourselves breaking into gleeful laughter every time we look at them!
Amazing creativity and great design are not the only winning ingredients of Mount Vic and Me’s success, it’s also the brand’s commitment to sustainability which includes sourcing and producing locally as much as possible, including providing upskilling opportunities to individuals in corrective services.
The tea towels carried by Qurious are an example of the socially conscious business model that makes Mount Vic and Me special – designed by Kara, the items are cut, hemmed, quality controlled, folded and packaged by inmates in corrective services.
They’ve got our support!
